What’s in the box?
June 17, 2006
Yummy. An exciting summer box this week…
Bunched onions, vine tomatoes, cos lettuce (ceasar salad?), cucumber (greek salad, cucumber soup, gazpacho?), radish (slightly scabby but keepin’ it real), avacados, romero peppers (lovely long sinuous shape), celery, spinach (at last…), globe artichoke (2 small ones but still a nice surprise).
We’re also trying out the fruit bag – for £4.50 we got a bag of melon, apple, bananas and strawberries – a bargain. As we speak Cara is throwing together an ultra-healthy breakfast smoothie – its too darn hot for a full fry-up.
We’ve also pushed the boat out with half a dozen organic eggs (£1.60ish) – they’re quite small but nice and speckledy.
Just need to find a decent on-line supplier of organic meat and we’ll be increasingly supermarket-independent.
